The word 'superstitions' is not uncommon at all to most of us. At least for those who belong to India. Some common questions asked are:
-- Do superstitions still exist? Yes
-- Are they true? No. Most of those part of Gen Y will agree with this.
-- What kind of superstitions still exist? Check out the part 1 version.
5. Pumpkin hung outside a house, indicates it's a newly constructed house
Why only pumpkin? Why not snake gourd? At least shape of a snake will scare theives from entering inside the house. And, a lot of them don't even bother to throw the pumpkin after a few days. Sometimes, the size of the pumpkin deteriorates to the size of a mango and people passing on the street still keep saying 'Oh.. new house in the complex ah.. ok ok'. Puff...
4. Don't step on any cut lime and green chillies on the road
Belief is all the sins will come to you if you do so. After all lime? Aei...don't tell like that and all. What you will underestimate if it is kutti (small) ah? It's LIME ok LIME. See how big it is now. So what relation now if I step on it? Go up and ask your great grandfothers. Gooooooo !
3. Don't cut nails after sunset
And if you do so, sing this song in any tune and cut your nails. 'These nails are not mine. May be some cat's claws or dog's claws these nails are not mine'. So, even if something bad has to happen, it will not happen to you.
2. If you attend a funeral, come from behind the house
I am not a thief to come from behind. If I come from the front side of the house, will I look like the dead person's ghost entering inside? Oh even otherwise I look like that only for you ah? Sorry boss, can't do much then.
1. If u touch a lizard, u r supposed to go an touch the silver lizard in Madurai meenakshi temple or someone who has touched that silver lizard
